Years Won: 2017, 2016 (Favorite)
The second oldest business in Ontario, Draper Mortuary was founded in 1898 by James Barnum Draper. It moved from Euclid Ave. to the downtown district sometime around 1911, then to its current facilities on Mountain Ave. in 1962. There it has maintained its long-established role in the community as a steadfast provider of complete quality funeral services. It is honored to be named Readers Choice “favorite.”
The motivation of the staff is simple: to assist each family in creating a unique, meaningful experience recognizing the passing of a loved one, whether the service is pre-planned or sudden. Their combined experience is about 120 years, as old as the company itself. There are two chapels: the Draper Memorial Chapel seats 200, and the more intimate Pearl Chapel seats up to 50. A Reception Hall seats up to 80 guests. All funeral preparations are done on-site, so families are assured that their loved one stays in the care of the mortuary.
Draper Mortuary is a provider in the nation-wide Dignity Memorial network, with very thoughtful ways to meet people’s needs such as National Transferability in pre-planning (prearrangement honored at any Dignity provider), a 24-Hour Compassion Help Line, Bereavement Travel Services, and more.
