We thank our Inland Valley residents for their continuing support and endorsement of San Antonio Regional Hospital. To be voted BEST HOSPITAL by Inland Valley Daily Bulletin readers and a FAVORITE HOSPITAL by San Bernardino Sun readers for the FIFTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR is truly an honor! We don’t underestimate the trust you place in our hands when you choose us for care–whether at our main hospital campus in Upland, or at one of our satellite facilities throughout the Inland Empire.
This has been an exciting time in our history as we have transitioned from San Antonio Community Hospital to San Antonio Regional Hospital. Our very first patients were treated in 1907 by a handful of pioneering physicians who wanted to make sure residents did not have to travel outside of their local community to receive the medical care they needed. Now, 108 years later and more than 500 physicians strong, we continue to expand to meet the needs of our growing communities.
As the decades have passed, San Antonio’s original small community hospital with basic services has become a sophisticated healthcare organization that encompasses a large portion of the Inland Empire. Over time we had, quite literally, outgrown our name. San Antonio RegionalHospital is a better reflection of the full breadth and depth of the services we provide, as well as our expanding footprint across the Inland Empire.
The timing of this name change comes as the hospital is currently completing a $160-million expansion program that will add much needed resources for the communities served by the hospital. This includes a much larger Emergency Services Department and a new patient tower with 92 private rooms. The new Emergency Department and patient tower are slated to open later this year.
We have also just opened the doors to Eastvale San Antonio Medical Plaza. The medical office complex is the first in the newly incorporated City of Eastvale and brings much needed primary medical care to residents of Eastvale, Corona, Norco, and south Ontario. The plaza includes San Antonio Urgent Care, along with several primary and specialty care physician offices.
In addition to seeing their doctor, patients also have convenient access to outpatient diagnostic testing provided by San Antonio Regional Hospital. This includes a laboratory, X-ray, ultrasound, 3D mammography, and EKG testing. There are plans to develop a second 30,000 square foot building in Phase II of the Eastvale project. Eastvale San Antonio Medical Plaza is the latest facility to join San Antonio’s network of care. The hospital’s other satellite facilities include Rancho San Antonio Medical Plaza in Rancho Cucamonga and Sierra San Antonio Medical Plaza in Fontana.
Despite its growth, San Antonio retains its mission to provide excellent care with compassion, supported by advanced technologies and a healing environment. The hospital continues to invest in leading edge technology to ensure that local residents do not have to travel outside the area to obtain premier medical care. An example is our new 3D digital mammography technology, which offers the lowest dose radiation currently available on the market and is conveniently located at our Eastvale San Antonio Medical Plaza, Rancho San Antonio Medical Plaza, and the Women’s Breast and Imaging Center on the hospital’s main campus in Upland.
After many years and evolutionary changes, San Antonio Regional Hospital would not have earned your vote if it weren’t for the special people behind our award-winning care. Whether serving our patients one-onone or behind the scenes, our physicians, staff, and volunteers show their dedication and commitment to providing world-class healthcare day in and day out.
Thank you again for this recognition and your trust.
