The San Bernardino County Museum is the largest museum in the Inland Empire located in Southern California. Visitors are encouraged to discover, question, share, play, and explore fascinating permanent and changing exhibits to connect with the natural and cultural history of the region.
As a community anchor, the museum is grateful for the continued public support of our social media programming during our shutdown. We look forward to reopening with safe procedures and practices that will help our visitors renew their trust in us as a safe, welcoming space for all of our residents.
Our new exhibit “Here Comes the Sun: Solar Science & Spirituality,” captures the influence of the Sun on Inland Southern California culture. The bilingual exhibit introduces visitors to this most powerful object in our solar system, yet for most of human history little was known about this extraordinary celestial body. From nearly 93 million miles away, the sun has forever influenced commerce, agriculture, art, and religion in unique ways in the IE. The exhibit features related material and artifacts from the museum’s permanent collection and showcases breathtaking NASA provided footage “Solarium.”
This exhibit celebrates our reopening with a date to be announced. At that time, the museum will open Tuesdays through Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.sbcounty.gov/museum or call (909) 387-8608.
